Music to Your Ears

Summer music festivals have turned into must-attend monstrosities and the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is crowned their king.

A herd of over 150 acts – you heard right, a walloping 150! - are lined up to grace the sun soaked Coachella stages, making it nearly, if not, impossible to see them all. But no need to fear, the Camuto team is here! We dwindled down the overwhelming lineup to the top five acts of Coachella 2014 that your eyes and ears simply cannot miss.

OutKast. Hey Ya! The big time duo is back and returning in fly style to celebrate their 20th Anniversary. André 3000 and Big Boi rejoined forces to take the summer music festival scene by storm, touring to over 40 festivals. We are jumping on our seats excited to see these ice cool guys use their Atlanta based southern high-hop swag to whisk us back to the early 2000’s. Slip on a cardigan, snap your fingers, and prepare to shake it like a Polaroid picture. Coachella Performance Time: Friday, April 11th & 18th

HAIM. Compared to the likes of Fleetwood Mac, these three twenty-something sisters completely stole the spotlight with their rock flare, dripping in classic groovy pop. After stealing hearts throughout the UK for the past few years, America is finally paying attention as their new hit If I Could Change Your Mind climbs the charts. Native to California, they’ll practically hop the fence of their LA home in leather jackets and tees to hit the nearby Coachella stage. Coachella Performance Time: Friday, April 11th & 18th

Flume. All the way from Aussie-land, Harley Edward Streten, or better known as Flume, has arrived in the States to drop some warped and alternative electric beats. Since the release of his self-titled album in 2012, Flume has received stellar critical acclaim. He’s talented young blood so be one of the first to experience his once side project become an international success. Coachella Performance Time: Friday, April 11th & 18th

Aloe Blacc. Bubbling with rich soul, Aloe Blacc is most recently known for his collaboration with Avicii in Wake Me Up! However, Blacc has been wandering the music world for some time. Remember the catchy song I Need a Dollar? Yep, he is the mastermind behind this song too. His artistry is a force to be reckoned with and his smooth soul is refreshing among today’s mainstream music. He is nothing short of The Man, which is coincidentally the title of his new single. Coachella Performance Time: Friday, April 11th & 18th

CHVRCHES. Her voice is angelic but packs a punch alongside the synthesizers and samplers. Lead singer Lauren May and bandmates Iain Cook and Martin Doherty make up CHVRCHES, properly pronounced “churches.” Their synth-pop sound is the kind of music you listen to while driving around with the windows rolled down and the volume turned up. In late September they released their first album The Bones of What You Believe, which was much anticipated by their original fans. As for her newest fans, we really like what we hear and are looking forward to their promised future. Coachella Performance Time: Saturday, April 12th & 19th
