Unlike its east counterpart with its heat waves and polar vortexes, the West Coast is not particularly known for its seasonal weather changes but that isn’t to say Bay Area locals are without their, “What’s the weather? What do I wear?” morning woes.
“Gorgeous and clear skies one day are often followed by the fog rolling in. The fog is so famous in San Francisco that the natives call it ‘Karl the Fog.’ You can even follow @KarlTheFog on Instagram,” warns blogger and San Francisco native Caroline Curran of Perfect 10 SF. The fickle weather patterns of San Fran mean that dressing for the day isn’t always easy and residents need to equip themselves with the sartorial essentials: sunglasses and cold weather layers.
While the weather initially sets the tone for Caroline’s outfit choices, that doesn’t mean that style is a lower priority, “Although there are absolutely no style rules in SF, when deciding what to wear I find that it is best to start with basic pieces and let the weather dictate my accessories. Basic black pants with a flowing, collared shirt and an over-sized Vince Camuto purse is my go-to look.”
Once her outfit’s core is set, Caroline loads up on accessories and jewelry to keep her look au courant: a stack of bangles, a fuzzy vest and her Vince Camuto Chantel booties. Finished with a cool dash of color in her minty Vince Camuto Molly tote, Caroline is primed and ready for whatever her day (or the San Francisco weather) blows her way!
