Military Time

Normally launched with excitement for the season ahead, a flurry of backstage Instagram photos and after party invitations, this year’s New York Fashion Week had a less-than-glamorous start thanks to the Polar Vortex’s unforgiving weather.

As editors, models and photographers braved frigid temperatures, snow, wind and sleet while shuttling from show to show, special attention was paid to street style’s outerwear above any other season.

Like many other fashion devotees and critics, Australian-based blogger Winston + Willow’s Charlotte Bridgeman made the pilgrimage from balmy Melbourne to the blistering cold New York City for Fashion Week. Bundling up in her Vince Camuto Wool Military Coat and a pair of over the knee boots, Charlotte was looking calm, cool, collected and above all warm. Her smaller shoulder bag with a uniquely rounded silhouette added a feminine touch to the menswear-inspired outerwear. With her fashion-meets-function, Charlotte is proof that even in the face of adverse weather, the (fashion) show must go on!
