Spring Trend of the Moment: The Retro Suede Heel

We’re all about rich, luxuriously textured suede for spring.

Because of its velvety nap and weight, it’s a fabric typically reserved for winter. But with the 1970s returning as one of Spring 16’s hottest trends--a time when suede dominated the fashion scene—it’s no surprise that we’re excitedly bringing suede back into our wardrobes.

To master the trend today, look for silhouettes that nod to the 70s mod-meets-bohemian vibe. If you’re worried about resembling a walking carpet in suede clothing, accessories are the easiest entry point: think wedge sandals, drawstring crossbody bags or even lace-up gladiators. A word on those signature 70s colors: Keep olive, orange and caramel in the time capsule where they belong and reach for delicate hues like blush, sand and ecru to lighten the weighty look of suede.

Dixon pairs her flirty romper with the Gilsa platform to make her legs look miles long. The stacked heel keeps it all from looking too risqué by day.
