How to Style Your Faux Fur Vest

We’re feeling a little jealous right now.

Stylist and blogger Sarah Butler just jetted off to the winter wonderland that is Whistler, Canada. It’s not just the incomparable mountain views, the rustic cabin complete with crackling fireplace, or the après-ski eggnog that we’re envious of. No, it’s her wardrobe.

Butler packed some picture-perfect outfits that looked as chic in the lodge as they did dining at Butler’s favorite farm-to-table find, Araxi Restaurant + Bar. Her luggage was brimming with cropped skinny jeans, rugged lug-soled boots, and our personal favorite, a selection of cool, covetable faux-fur vests.

Even though we can’t see ourselves on a ski lift anytime soon, we were so inspired by her deft styling that we created three outfits to sport right now—starring the faux-fur vest!

Look 1: Downtown Edgy

The shagginess of the vest gives a retro nod to the 70s. To temper the bohemian vibe and infuse your look with a little more bite, pair with worn-in boyfriend denim and Chelsea boots.

Look 1: Pretty & Polished

Traditionally a spring staple, white denim can work mid-February when paired with a fuzzy faux-fur vest and neutral accessories. The mix of heavy and lightweight fabrics will keep your outfit appropriate to the season.

Look 3: Evening Elegance

A fur vest is ideal for those mild, “Do I need a jacket?” nights out. With such a luxurious statement piece, keep the rest of your outfit lines clean: a timeless blouse and slacks combo and an elegant clutch is all you need!
