Lauren Price is a Renaissance woman.
An Atlanta-based style consultant, hospitable hostess, budding interior decorator and entrepreneur, Lauren is a multifaceted blogger, documenting her many forays and interests on her blog Fashionably Lo.
On Fashionably Lo, Lauren shares tried-and-true tips on how to set your dinner table like a party-throwing pro, how to slather on faux-tanner for a sun-kissed glow year ‘round and how to whip up a cinnamon vanilla latte so well you’ll forget about Starbucks. This is all atop her simple and chic outfit posts.
In addition to her own blog, Lauren is the co-founder, along with Megan Elliot of Lush to Blush, of Adorn Media Group, another favorite read here at The Crest. Together, Lauren and Megan advise new brands and emerging bloggers on how to increase exposure and build brand awareness.
We spoke to Lauren to glean a few more of her pragmatic tips. In typical Lo fashion, they range from overhauling your bursting closet to cooking up an easy pasta dish that turns Wednesday dinnertime from drab to decadent.
When did you start your blog—and why?
I started Fashionably Lo in December of 2012 as a creative outlet for sharing my personal style and inspirations with others. I've always loved exploring new and exciting fashion and lifestyle trends and decided it was time to share those experiences with like-minded ladies. As for the name, I initially wanted to draw focus on affordable and attainable style and could not resist a cheeky play on words. My nickname for as long as I can remember has been “Lo” so naturally, a spin on "low" price points just made sense.
Tell The Crest a bit about your readers.
Fashionably Lo readers are looking for fashion, lifestyle and beauty inspiration with a focus on an affordable approach to style.
Who are your style icons?
I have way too many to count, but some of my favorites are Carrie Bradshaw, Olivia Palermo, Jessica Alba and Zoe Saldana. They all have a very feminine style, but with fun modern twists.
You also work as a style consultant. What is your best tip for editing your closet?
If I haven't worn something in one full calendar year, it has to go. I'm the girl who loves to hold onto things “just in case”; so I tend to hoard my favorite pieces, even if I know I won't actually wear them. Unless it’s something timeless that won't go out of style, like a good trench or crisp white button down, I try to purge the trendier items on a regular basis. The upside, you get to make room for more of your favorite styles.
Your best tips and tricks for accentuating features you like and downplaying others?
I typically like to show off my legs, so fuller midi/mini-skirts, skinny jeans and flirty dresses tend to be at the top of my list. I typically don't try to “downplay” any features. I'm a sucker for trying new trends and styles, and like to think we can all look good as long as we feel confident.
What are your top five styling and grooming tips?
1. You can't go wrong with a bold lip.
2. Always keep a pair of nude pointed toe pumps in your shoe collection.
3. Have fun! I'm not sure how long the trend will stick around, but I still can't get enough of mixing bold prints and patterns.
4. To take a dress from desk to drinks, throw on a chic leather jacket, a red lip and add your favorite clutch.
5. Invest in quality staples like a structured blazer, the perfect LBD or a gorgeous pair of statement heels.

What is your favorite recipe to whip up on a weeknight?
Anything that involves pasta! While I literally love any pasta dish, my go-to is a simple Aglio e Olio recipe: a mix of angel hair pasta, two tablespoons of olive oil, garlic, crushed red pepper and Parmesan cheese. Served with a glass of white wine—this is what my Wednesday nights are made of.

Why did you chose the Vince Camuto Lorin Drawstring bag?
I am obsessed with bucket bags right now—I mean aren't we all!? I love the soft pink hue of this little beauty and think it adds a feminine and modern punch to my winter looks. The best part? It will transition perfectly into spring and I'm pretty sure I'll never love another bag as much. It is just that good.
